DIY Wire Wrapped Stone Necklace

All things pretty

Welcome back to myyyy frenfriessss and hellooo I’m Alice if you’re new to my home!

Monday is always sooo hectic and stressful. But let’s not make Monday a Moanday. Turn on the beat and get ourselves ready for some fun.

We will get our hands dirty today with some DIYsss!

I love making crafts and pretty little things as much as I love giving them out to my friends and families. I believe what make an object’s worth is the meaning behind it. I would happily carry a garbage bag around if my best friend bought that on his trip to Narrowa (let’s we assume there’s this land far far away called Narrowa) and the people there believe in luck brought from garbage bag. I also love receiving present. And for me there’s no such thing as a bad gift.

Today we’ll be tinkering our way with lucky gemstone pendant!

On my trip to Melbourne I bought myself some Tiger Eye stone and Rose Quartz. However it’s my life long habits of buying pretty little things and lose them a day after. So I decided to tied them up on my neck and never lose them again! Also I got inspired by a vender at a summer night market which you can read about that adventure here.

You’re gonna need obviously a gemstone (that you love sooo much, doesn’t matter in what size or shape), some craft wire (I figure out it’s better in bronze colour), a threat to wear on your neck, and a pliers.16117912_1874319899477388_209014063_n

Then this is when Pinterest come into handy. You will need some inspirations or at least an idea of what you want your pendant gonna look like. Here I have a few reference for mine

Don’t freak out! Trust me, it’s not that complicated. It’s just a little bit confused in the beginning. After you decide the best way the wire is going to wrap your stone, you’re good to go. Stick to the sample, simplify it two difficulty level down.

It took me the whole afternoon, significant amount of broken and disastrous shape wire, and tremendous amount of happiness looking at my freshly made pendant!

Put the threat on and taaddaaa who’s got the best handmade necklace evaaa?!!!

It’s a month to valentine. Take sometimes to practice and by then, you’ll be able to send out to your loved ones the most meaningful present ❤ Cover in your blood and sweat! That’s not very hygiene wise but you know what I meannn.

Have a productive week ma frenfriesss! And happy DIYingggg ❤ ❤ ❤

Until next time!

My fav orange lipsticks review

All things pretty

How are you doinggg my frenssfriesss. It’s a super sunny day in Australia today so I feel like some bright and fun and summery make-ups

Today let’s talk orange lippies!

I have been asked by my friends on how to wear orange tone lippies and for real, it got me surprised. Ain’t orange lipsticks the easiest to wear and match with any skin tones? Personally, I do own lots of bright red, to dark pink and rich orange lipsticks. Let’s admit it’s our lady secret that each of us does own a bright colour lipstick. And you know, we all been through that time when we were damn crazy about the red-lip look.

These are the ones I’m using most frequently and all are drug-store range products.

From left to right: Maybeline Baby Lips Electro Pop in Oh! Orange!, Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in 03 Orange Punch, Maybeline Color Drama in 410 Fab Orange, and Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in 12 Buenos Aires.15991953_1873350432907668_131550352_o.jpg

And the swatches on the back of my arm

Let’s start with No. 1 Maybeline Baby Lips Electro Pop in the colour Oh! Orange!

Electro Pop is, in my objective opinion, an attempt of Maybeline to sell “a lip balm with colour”. If you do a little research online, you can find Electro Pop has a wide range of fun and “electro” colours such as neon and bright purple (so cool right?!).

I will call it a lip balm rather than a lipstick since the colour is not very well payoff and also because of its rich moisturising effect. You need to apply properly two hundred times for the colour to appear true to the package. It will be this sheer tint of orange on your lips.

I use this for moisturising my lips before I put my lipstick on or sometimes just a glide of it for a more daily natural shine, or as a lipgloss.

The price is super cheap as per other lip balm, which is $4 for 3.5 gram tube.

And can we pay a second to appreciate how cute the packages of Maybeline lip balm range are! I’m a sucker for cute packaging sooooo gotta admit I bought this solely of the cute package. Just look at the clear cap and the black tube!!! And it has this light smell of orange extract too.

No. 2 Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon in number 03 Orange Punch

I heard of Bourjois before but never really bought anything from them, especially lipsticks. This is my first try and I give it a 3/5.

The same with Maybeline Electro Pop, this line of Colour Boost Lip Crayon is super rich in moisturising and its creamy quality. The colour is surely more pigmented, with a peachy pink undertone to go with its orange. So if you are a bit hesitate to try out true orange colour, go with this!

It’s very easy to apply, very pigmented and leaves you this glossy plumped lips finish. And it has a sweet rose aroma to it too (which I love love love! I love everything rosy.)

It’s a little pricey, $15 for 2.8g which if you use it daily (like I did) its will run out rather quickly. The lipstick is packed in a typical (thick) twisted bottom crayon shape tube.

People said this lipstick is very close to Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm, which make me so curious and wanna try out the Revlon since I personally prefer a matte finish. If anyone of you have tried the Revlon Matte Balm please give me some reviews before I buy mine.

No.3 Maybeline Color Drama in 410 Fab Orange

Taddaaaa my favourite of all orange lippiesss!!!! Baby Maybeline Color Drama. The name says it all! The colour opacity is dramatic!

It’s may not be the truest orange you’re looking for but the reddish in it is “acceptable”. It’s so bright and pretty and fun. But when choosing a lip colour like this, you should try to avoid too dark or intense eyes makeup. It’ll make you look like you up to something naughty no gooood.

I’ve been using this since ages and it last super long. It’s shaped like a pencil (which you will need a sharpener for it) and that’s why it’s pretty quantity wise. You don’t waste anything in the packaging, just straight on full-on product. I love this!

There is no smell or fragrance whatsoever in this baby.

Pay $10 and you’ll get a 2.5g of magiccccc.

No. 4 Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in 12 Buenos Aires

There is no complaints for Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream lipstick texture and consistency. Super light weight with a matte finish. The applicator is thin and soft too. It’s a big bonus as for liquid lipstick, this is essential.

But the only problem with this colour is, as I said in another post before, it doesn’t go well with my skin tone since there’s a hint of white and neon-ness in it. And here I am with this olive under tone.

$13 for a tube of 8ml liquid lipstick with a matte cap (loveee tha cappp)

And please girlsss, someone please give me some advises on how to use this babe. I’m so in love with the texture I really don’t wanna put it away.

That’s it for todaiiiiiiii. And again, hope my frenfriesss army a great great and fun weekend!!!! ❤

NYX Lippies Review

All things pretty

Let’s start this out with a little 2016 trends recap.

2016 make-up trends can be sum up in a few words: Nude tone, Glam make-up and Baddie style. And the hype for this will continue to stay on top for at least the whole 2017.

2016 is the year reddish and pop-coloured lipstick have to take a step back for nude, skin tone and brownish under-toned lippies. And not to mention matte finish and liquid lipsticks are on real high demand.

Have to admit I’m a sucker for all the lippies with “my-lips-but-better” colours. Shame shame I know. But let’s be real, who don’t wanna look all put together and sleek while still being “all me” and natural?! Today let’s me introduce you to my teeny tiny collection of the all time favourite NYX cosmestic lippies.

Frenssss say hiiiii!

From left to right: Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in number 09 Abu Dhabi, Nyx Intense Butter Gloss in 06 Chocolate Crepe, Nyx Lingerie in 04 Ruffle Trim, Nyx Simply Nude Lip Cream in 06 Sable and baby Essence lipliner in 11 In The Nude.

Andddd here are the swatches on the inside of my hand! (The colours may vary upon your lips colour thou, so make sure to test it on the inside of your thumb before buying it!)

No.1 Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in number 09 Abu Dhabi.

(I’m pretty bad at describing lipstick colour so bear with me if I keep mentioning the word “nude”!)

This is one of the very first liquid lipsticks from Nyx. It goes wayyyy back then, but the quality of the product is sooo well-loved by the beauty/cosmetic lovers, so it sticks around for quiet sometime and still in the top 3 of Nyx’s best lipstick!

The colour is well pay off. It has a subtle orange under-toned rather than peachy. It’s also very high in opacity. However, if your skin is from middle to darker scale, I don’t recommend using this since it can make you look washed-out.

It has a matte finish and even though it stays on pretty long, it is transferable.

You can smell a sweet, brownies, candy-liked sense in this.

A bottle of 8ml (I love the matte material of the cap sooo damn much) costs $13. As I swap between lipsticks and I just purchased these babies last year, I’m not very sure how long this gonna last.

No.2 Nyx Intense Butter Gloss in number 06 Chocolate Crepe.

It is soooo pigmented! It shocked me the first time I tried it on. This baby came in my Christmas NYX gift set. I did have my expectation for this as a “lip gloss with colour”kinda lipsticks. But it amazed me by the surprisingly smooth and glossy texture.

Chocolate Crepe is a deep rich brown colour with a bit of purple and red in it. It is so pigmented and super complimenting on my lips. It has this glossy , *sexy* finish and a sweet sense. I love it this lipstick soo soooo much!

It also comes in the 8ml bottle with a glossy purple-ish cap.

No. 3 Nyx Lingerie in number 04 Ruffle Trim

Do I need to mention the popularity of this babe again or you still haven’t overed it yet? This is a must-have item in any beauty guru make-up bag. It beats many high-end liquid lipsticks on the market. This is my all time favourite, daily go-to, best of the besties lipstick!

Ruffle Trim is this peachy nude tone which is super light-weight and easy to apply on your lips. Super super pretty colour. I fell asleep with this on and waking up surprised “I’ve lipstick on this whole time?”.

It has a matte finish and non-transferable. (Which means you can kiss your significant ones with this on without leaving them lipstick stains. Uh-mah-zing!). I had this on for a whole long day and I can say it stays put really well too! You don’t have to re-apply it every 2 hours or keep checking yourself in the mirror. Plus plus plus

However, as for any matte finish liquid lipsticks, Nyx Lingerie does leave my lips dry and it hung onto my dry patches. So remember to always put your lip balm on (then wipe it off) before applying any matte liquid lipsticks.

$15 for a 4ml tube. The glass tube itself is pretty heavy and *high quality* as I would say. The applicator is soft and flat on the sides and super thin so there’s no way you can mess it up. Super make-up beginner-friendly!

Highly recommended!

No 4. Nyx Simple Nude Lip Cream in colour 06 Sable.

Super easy to apply. Beginner-friendly. Everyday look. If you are a time-lacking and make-up free kinda girl, you will love this as much as I do.

The colour sable is so subtle and it’s truly is a my-lips-but-better colour. Still, for lighter skin tone. Or it can be a good lip concealer to used as a base for your nude lip colour later as well.

It’s super creamy, buildable. You will need two glides for the true colour to appear.

The lipstick is packed in a crayon shaped tube with clear cap and twisted end. It’s the only one that is not liquid in my Nyx collection. $12 for 3g.

Highly recommended!

No. 5 Essence In The Nude 11 lipliner.

Even though this is not a Nyx, but I love this sooo much I have to share it with you guys.

Despite not being the truest “nude”, this is the prettiest colour you can find in a lipliner (haven’t tried all the lipliner, soooo bias I know I know). Besides the fact that it help erase great deal of your natural unwanted lip lines, do you know that you can use your lipliner as a non-transferable, matte finish lipstick that stays (properly) forever.

It only cost $2 for a 1.2g so this is one absolute catch.

The only cons is that you need to have a sharpener but that’s not a big deal right.

No. 5.5 Nyx Matte Lip Cream in colour 12 Buenos Aires

Another Matte Lip Cream. I absolutely adore the texture and the consistency. However the colour just doesn’t go well with my skin tone. I looked super washed out so I always have to wear this colour with another darker lipstick.

Guess I should have this include here incase some of you may wanna try this colour.

Hope you guys find some helpful, or at least entertaining, information here. More 2016 recap and 2017 trends coming up in make-up, fashion and many more.

See you until next time!
